President Rouhani arrives in Kish Island

TEHRAN, Mar. 21 (MNA) – The Iranian President has landed in Kish Island to attend a meeting of heads of Iranian free trade zones.

Upon arrival at Kish International Airport, Iran’s Presidnet Hassan Rouhani told the reporters “the summit of Iranian free trade zones will make decisions on plans and actions to be taken in the zones in the year ahead.”

Rouhani pointed to inauguration of Hendurabi airport as well as visiting some ongoing projects in Kish Island as other programs on the agenda of his trip to the Iranian Island; “Hendurabi Island remains quite spectacular for local and foreign tourists,” he noted.

“The arrival of 23,000 passengers in the island during the past 24 hours reflects the attractiveness of Iran’s Kish,” underlined the official stressing “these figures indicate that further facilities must be created to render better services to the visitors.”

The Iranian President emphasized the need for collective effort to advance the policy of Resistance Economy asserting “section 11 of the Resistance Economy policies refers to the unique role of free zones in the country’s development; we need to prepare grounds for exports of goods and services as well as increased production by attracting technology and investment.”

Hassan Rouhani concluded “one commission of the Tuesday meeting would be dealing with the taken steps in line with the implementation of Resistance Economy policy as well as new measure to be taken to speed up the process.”
